Double-Stacked Bookshelves

Kat had some great prompts this week, but I'm going to go with hotels I'd love to live in.  Pure fantasy and dreaming! Sylvia Beach Hotel :  Newport, Oregon The most local and, probably, the most plausible for a visit on the list, the Sylvia Beach Hotel is a book lovers dream.  Each room is modeled after a specific author/work, they have a massive library on the top floor, the restaurant is called the Tables of Content, and there are no TVs or WiFi access.  Added bonus, you're able to visit the hotel even if you aren't staying there.  Any room that is empty is open to explore.  I've done this!  So awesome.  Plus, it's right on the beach :) Hotel Sacher Wien :  Vienna, Austria Possibly one of the most famous hotels in Austria, the Hotel Sacher is renowned for its sacher torte, a delicious concoction of dense chocolate cake with a marmalade filling and chocolate ganache.  It's perfect with a cup of coffee ...

Holy moly do I love Traveling I've always liked the idea of discovering new places, but have hated the actual means of getting there.  It could have been due to the fact that I had a tendency to get car sick if I wasn't sitting in the front seat.  This was true when I was a child because we ALWAYS drove whenever we went on vacation;  Disneyland...Vegas...Seattle...anyplace within pseudo driving distance.   Once I entered college I decided to branch out in my traveling repertoire.  I had been on a plane once when I was fourteen.  It was a two hour flight to Vegas.  Who goes to Vegas when they're fourteen?!?  For spring break of 2003, my friend Dani and I decided that we were going to go somewhere crazy.  Cue Japan.  That's right...Japan.  Going from a two hour flight to a seventeen hour flight...BIG DIFFERENCE!  It's a long, exhausting flight from Portland, Oregon to Okinawa, Japan, but it was one of the best vacations ever....

I've been known to read anywhere and everywhere.  True statement.  There are very few places that I am unable to read; namely cars and double decker buses (found both out the hard way).  When I was little, I was able to read in cars, no problem.  However, as I've grown older, I find that I tend to get a little motion sickness if I don't watch the road the entire time.  Either that, or I have to close my eyes for the duration of the trip.  Regardless, I've discovered that I can read just about anywhere aside from those two places.  So, because of this, I dedicate this week's "Why I Love" to my favorite reading spot ...THE WORLD as long as I have a book in my hands! I'm quite comfortable hunkering down in any given spot, cracking open whatever book is in my bag, and losing myself in the world it provides.  This ability has provided me with many escapes from the everyday world and helped to pass hours and hours.  I find this incredibly true wh...
