Top Ten Tuesday: Recent TBR Additions

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and it's a way to share what you're loving in list form. The topic changes every week, so there is always something new to discover!
This week's topic is:  Top Ten Books That Have Recently Been Added To My TBR.  I am horrible at adding books, willy nilly, to my TBR.  It's ridiculously (and embarrassingly) massive, but I can't seem to bring myself to stop!  People need to just quit writing books I want to read....  Regardless, here are the last ten I added:

Passenger (Passenger 1) by Alexandra Bracken

The Siren by Kiera Cass

This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

The Improbability of Love by Hannah Rothschild

The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

What are the last few books that have made it on to your TBR?

Also, look for next week's Top Ten:  FREEBIE!  Yay...maybe I can do some catch-up on TTT's that I've missed...

Happy reading!

B.O.B. 15: Progress Day 6 (Updated)

Bout of Books 15 Progress

To keep track of my progress for the challenge, I will be updating this post, periodically, listing what I'm reading, what I've finished (if anything), pages read, challenges completed, and thoughts on how the event is going for the week.  Here we go!

Day 6 Progress
Current ReadWinter by Marissa Meyer and Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
Pages Read:  178
Total Pages Read:  695
Books FinishedSaga, Volume 1 by Brian K Vaughan and Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Challenges:  Again, none :(
Thoughts:  One more day left and I want to get some massive reading done.  Tomorrow will be interrupted by cleaning the house, laundry, and going to look at a house for sale.  We'll see how much I actually get done.

Day 5 Progress
Current ReadWinter by Marissa Meyer and Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
Pages Read:  136
Total Pages Read:  517
Books FinishedSaga, Volume 1 by Brian K Vaughan and Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Challenges:  None...I'm really failing at challenges...
Thoughts:  Despite my non-participation in challenges this latter half of the week, I'm feeling pretty decent about my reading progress.

Day 4 Progress
Current Read:  Winter by Marissa Meyer, Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling, and Saga, Volume 1 by Brian K Vaughan.  I'm feeling ambitious, evidently.
Pages Read:  82
Total Pages Read:  381
Books FinishedWelcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Challenges:  I totally meant to do the challenge, but time got away from me and before I knew it...well, you know how it is!
Thoughts:  I can't believe that we are halfway done with the challenge and I've only completed one book!  I'm hoping to really buckle down over the last few days and get some reading in.

Day 3 Progress
Current ReadWelcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie...so close to being done!
Pages Read:  92...not as good as day 2, but still not shabby.  I felt like I read so much more!
Total Pages Read:  299
Challenges:  None.  I got very busy yesterday...and I also didn't find the challenge to be something I wanted to participate in very much due to the fact that my spare room is a disaster and it would be too difficult to forage for books that worked in the chaos.
Thoughts:  Fingers crossed that Day 4 goes better than Day 3...and so on and so forth!

Day 2 Progress
Current ReadWelcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Pages Read:  158...much better than Day 1
Total Pages Read:  207
ChallengesWould You Rather...
Thoughts:  A much more productive day in terms of participation and reading.  Yay!  And all of this done with a massive headache at the end of the day/evening.  And, of course, I stayed up way too late reading my little heart out.  On to day 3!

Day 1 Progress
Current ReadWelcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Pages Read:  49
Challenges:  None...today was a bit crazy at work with the delayed start due to weather and the fact that today was the first day of term.  Lots of people needing help navigating campus...and life in general.  Plus, the challenge wasn't really a challenge; more so a participation in introducing yourself.  Twitter's still waiting ;)
Thoughts:  Honestly, today was an incredibly slow reading day for me.  I feel like I'm still recovering from the massive reading I've been doing over the holidays and I haven't really picked up a book in about 3 days.  I know!  Shocker!!  I'm hoping that I get my reading mojo back soon...

Happy reading, fellow Bout of Bookers!

B.O.B. Would You Rather...

Day 2 of the Bout of Books Read-a-Thon has commenced and I'm finally getting around to participating in my first mini challenge of the week.  Woohoo!
Today's mini challenge is hosted by Lori @ Writing My Own Fairytale.  This one is super simple and pretty straight forward:  answer the Would You Rather question.  Here we go!

Would You Rather...Lend books to someone who dog-ears pages or to someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers?
  • I would much rather have someone who dog-ears pages borrow my books.  As a dog-earer myself (I'm really trying to be better about it), it wouldn't bother me as much.  I hate when there is something spilled on books or food/bugs smudged in them.  It disgusts me!  Though Cheetos are delicious...mmm
Would You Rather...Be able to meet one character of your choice or meet one of author of your choice?
  • An author of my choice, no question.  JK Rowling, I'm coming for you!
Would You Rather...Never be allowed in a book store again or never be allowed in a library again?
  • Oh...this one's hard.  Probably a bookstore...as much as I love them.  At least the library will continue to get new books and they're free!
Would You Rather...Have to choose one of your favorite characters to die in their book or have to pick one of your favorite couples to break up in their book?
  • I think I'd rather have my favorite couple break up because at least they would still exist.  Ron and Hermione...they'd still be friends.  Mr Darcy and Elizabeth...would be tough, but I'd be happy that Darcy would be around to be all curmudgeon-y :)
Would You Rather...Be required to read Twilight one a year for the rest of your life or The Scarlet Letter once a year for the rest of your life?
  • Definitely Twilight!  It's totally a guilty pleasure.
What about you?  Where do you stand on these Would You Rather questions?

There is still time to sign up for the read-a-thon, if you're interested; it closes today.  Simply go here and join in!

Happy reading, fellow Bout of Bookers!
