Beyond the Books: Where I Blog

This week's topic is:  Blogging?  Where do you do it?  Well, let me tell you!

I have two separate places where I tend to blog...

At Home
I work on a laptop when I'm at home.  Often, you can find me sitting on the couch, hunched over, typing away on my 2006 Dell (yeah...) while it's sitting on the coffee table.  It's not super comfortable, sometimes, but it gets the job done.  It also allows me to take breaks easily, as in watch some mindless entertainment on the tube and get snacks, and it's easy to pick it up, place it on my lap, lean back, and relax a little.  However, my lap gets kind of hot doing this.  One day, I'll have a spiffy new laptop to crush the blog on and maybe, just maybe, an actual office where I can work on stuff!  Ah, dreams...

At Work (shhhh....)
When I have downtime at work (or when I need to take a break from data entry and whatnot), I'll work on the good ole blog.  This happens more often in the summer months (mainly August) than at any other time during the year and it's often done in spurts of activity.

Where do you blog?

(Sorry...no pics today, lovelies)

Beyond the Books is a weekly event hosted by Karen at Kissin Blue Karen.  Feel free to join in!

  1. I usually blog at my desk at home (which is in a little nook outside the kitchen) or from my desk at work when things are slow. It’s never more than 15 minutes squeezed in here or there, so there’s no time to go anywhere fun.

    1. I could use the dining room, which is closer to the kitchen, but then I would be too close to the kitchen and its tempting snacks! Haha. Thanks for visiting, Kate :)

  2. I mostly blog in my office/guest room, but during July, I had a temporary space in which to work. Here's MY BEYOND THE BOOKS POST

    1. We have a spare room, but there is no way to feel productive in there because I am constantly working on organizing it more. It's kind of a disaster at the moment...so I wouldn't get any blogging done! Thanks for visiting, Laurel!

  3. I also like to sit on the couch while working on my blog, but it's true, the laptop gets really hot!
    Nice blogpost :)

  4. I have a portable lap table for my laptop, but I hardly ever use it. It would probably be ideal for you in your situation, with it getting on your lap like that. I wish I could sit on the couch, but this house it too small for me to be out there when the kids are home. Hopefully when we move it will be better for me.
Thanks for playing along this week!

    1. I've thought about getting one of those, but it would probably still sit unused somewhere because it would be one more thing I'd have to lug around. Haha. Hope your move goes smoothly and thanks for hosting, Karen!

  5. I move between my desk or my bed while I'm blogging. Sometimes I just want to sit with my legs up so I go to our bed. I've done some blogging at work too (shhh - lol). If work was down or sometimes things pop in my head for a review so I'll write it up in an email to myself.

    1. I used to blog in my bed, but have stopped for some reason. This was more prevalent when I was in grad school and living in a residence hall in Edinburgh. While the desk was a great work space, sometimes you just need to comfort of a cushy bed :) And your work blogging secret it totally safe with me! Thanks for visiting, Kathy.

  6. I'm with you about blogging on my downtime at work. Don't tell! LOL Mostly I blog from the couch. I've had my computer get too hot too. It doesn't bother me much if I'm wearing pants, but if I'm wearing shorts, it does. I sometimes will use a pillow or blanket either way to help with the heat.

    1. My lips are sealed :) I also utilize the blanket/pillow on the lap technique, but in the summer months it's just a little too toasty for my liking. Thanks for visiting!
