I is for...I Wanna Dance and It Must Have Been

Friday!!!  We're so close to the weekend, fellow A-Zers and I can smell the freedom!  It's also nearing the end of week two of the challenge and I'm still feeling confident.  How about you?  Today is all about the letter I.

I is for "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "It Must Have Been Love"

"I Wanna Dance With Somebody" - Whitney Houston

I love a good Whitney track, but her older stuff is gold.  It's probably silver, platinum, diamond, and any other precious metal/gem you can think of.  She's that glorious.  But I have to say that there's just something wonderful about this track.  It makes me smile...and dance.

*Fun Fact:  Though released to mixed reviews and comparisons to some of Houston's earlier tracks, as well as Cyndi Lauper, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1988.

"It Must Have Been Love" - Roxette

This song.  Oh, this song.  When Pretty Woman happened, this song skyrocketed like whoa in the US (it had previously only been popular in Europe).  That ending scene when Julia Roberts is driving away from Richard Gere in his limo.  Swoon!  And then they add this song to the scene.  No way!

*Lyrics:  "Lay a whisper on my pillow / Leave the winter on the ground / I wake up lonely / There's air of silence in the bedroom / And all around"

What are some of your favorite I songs?

Blog on, fellow A-Zers!

  1. I had Whitney Houston's first couple of albums and I listened to it over and over again. I remember being dumped by my first boyfriend (he was a player, turns out) and listening to All at Once over and over again.
