B.O.B. 21 Day 3 Progress




Goooood Morning, Bout of Book enthusiasts!  Today is a new day and (fingers crossed) a productive one.  The rain is raining.  The skies are gray.  The books are waiting to be read!  Here's how yesterday went...





Stats for Day 3:

Current Read:  The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and Knitting by Anne Bartlett
Pages Read:  30 from Shadow and 21 from Knitting
Total Pages:  146
Time Spent Reading:  I got a bit of reading done on my lunch break and during my evening break at my second job and a little bit done right before bed (to relax).  15 hour workdays don't lend themselves to good reading time.
Challenges:  None...I had every intention of doing the book spine rainbow and even thought about recycling my post from last round of BoB, but I couldn't bring myself to do it and then I ran out of time.
Thoughts:  While yesterday was not a super successful BoB day as a whole, I'm still pretty stoked about the little reading I did get done and the fact that I'm not stressing about the page count.  Today shall be better!

2016 A-Z Blogging Challenge Theme Reveal

Oooo...the day is getting closer; creeping stealthily, it will smack you in the face in no time! While we impatiently await the start of the challenge, it's time to reveal our themes.  Yay!  I'm going for something drastically different this year.  Something much more challenging than I've ever done in my previous four years participating in this particular challenge.  Normally my posts are pretty straight-forward, contained, not overly ambitious.  This year is going to be another beast all together. My mission, should I choose to accept it, will be to write one continuous story for the entire challenge.  I know my characters, setting, and where I want it to go...kind of.  All I need to figure out is how to get from point A to point Z.  The first word of each post will start with the letter for the day; some of these will definitely be more difficult than others, but I'm determined. Whoopsidaisy...Guess my Saturday (and Sunday) got away from me and I forgot to post my X topic!  So here's to a little catch up :)  X is for... X Marks the Spot:  Shanghai Tunnels See what I did there?  Sneaky sneaky.  Anywho, moving on.  In the Oldtown/Chinatown area of Portland, there is a magical underground network of tunnels that are less...magical and more maniacal.  Comprised of a network of underground tunnels connecting the basements of several hotels and bars along the waterfront of the Willamette River, the Shanghai Tunnels were originally built to move goods from the ships docked along the waterfront into the basements of their respective destinations in order to avoid streetcar and pedestrian traffic.
